Happy Birthday

Today, I'm gonna celerate my busband's birthday with him. He is kind of a herbivore man, as he isn't so voracious and actually, is very kind to others. Now many men have become "herbivore men", and many women have become powerful instead. If a powerful woman choose a powerful man as a spouse, there will be some friction between them. As I see, many assertive women are likely choose those who has gentle nature for their boyfriend, or husband. Of course my husband is sometimes self-assertive especially at his job, but generally he keeps his temper. That's why we can keep good balance between us.

Not to change the subject, but I took the STEP(EIKEN) test last week. It was very tough as always. Now many people, including some bloggers, take this test, so I can get some useful information through their articles. Actually, I'm taking this test seriously because this was my fourth challenge on this test. I don't wanna waste more time and money on it. However, I found myself in a tenuous situation again. All I can do now is pray to God and stay calm.

Agree or disagree: Ordinary citizens should be involved in trials as a judicial panel

POINTS
■The duty of confidentiality
■The security of judicial panels
■Mandatory attendance
■The rapidness of trials
■The reflection of public opinions
■False accusation

【original】

Some people are opposed to the introduction of the citizen judge system, because they are not ready for it. I believe, however, that people should participate in trials as a citizen judge.
First, the lay judge system can reflect public opinions to sentences. Generally, the judges decide a sentence in accordance with precedent, but lay jurors can bring new ideas and perspective on their decisions. New trials can include more "common sense" in sentences than ever.
Second, people will pay more attention to trials and crimes. It is mandatory to attend the trial if they are chosen as a citizen judge, thus many people have been more conscious about crimes and trials occur in their society. It is a good opportunity for us to know what happens around us and how to solve these problems.
Finally, the lay judge system can lead trials more rapidly than ever.In the past, trials dragged on for months or years. The longer it takes time, the more it costs. The rapidness of trials can save money which originally comes from our tax.
In conclusion, I strongly agree with the idea that people should take part in trials as a lay juror. It will lead us understand the justice system more.

No idea, No sense

I haven't posted my journal recently. As I mentioned in another blog, I coudln't passed the EIKEN test held in last month. I've noticed that it's difficult to write something in English once I have a break of writing. Actually, there's no idea what to write. That's why I haven't logged in my blog. However, the counter shows there've been some visiters to this blog everyday, so I appreciate your visitting.
Now I re-start English learning, especially focusing on conversation. I listen to an English program broadcasted by NHK and read the textbook aloud many times everyday. To me, reading a textbook is a kind of practice, so I don't expect that I'll use these expressions written in the book. However, it's necessary to speak something in English everyday not to forget the sense of English. I haven't spoken English recently because I'd been busy cramming for the EIKEN test. Now I've decided to study English as much as I can, and everything I can do. Speaking, reading, listening, writing, and vocaburary. That' why I start posting journals on this blog again and will post some essays aimed for the test. And I'll write longer journals. The longer, the better, to practice writing English.

Time Flies

A week has passed since I took the STEP(EIKEN) test last sunday. Actually, I was a bit busy traveling to Okinawa after the test, so I didn't have enough time to consider my result on the test. As I mentioned my another blog, it wasn't as good as I had expected, but I could say that the result reflected my skills well. I wrote about twenty esseys before the test, which has enabled me to write a essay within 30mins. Writing two or three essays a week is a good exercise and now I can write around 200 words without couniting the words I write. Some kind of sense may have arisen in my mind, i suppose. Plus, writing a essay is easier than keeping a diary, because I only have to choose a theme which i want to write. I think keeping a diary on the Net is a bit difficult because you may expose your privacy to the world. Anyway, I'll continue putting my writings on this blog in English, and I believe it will do my writing skill better.

Impression on my essays

I've my essays corrected by some teachers, and they've given me some useful advice. As my strategy, I start and close my essay using almost the same sentences. For example, "Some say that...., others say that..... I believe, however, that...." and "In conclusion, (repeating my thesis) "
Some teachers say these sentenses are basic expressions for essays, but others pointed out that these sentenses are quite predectable and even boring. That's why I've been trying to make more creative ones in my first 'general sentense' in introduction. However, it's sometimes difficult to come up with good sentenses. At this moment, I use my basic 'strategy' sentenses to write.
Anyway, writing essay is really tough and I can't improve my writing skill within such a short term. Yet writing essay will be helpful to prepare for the secondary exam: the interview test. So I assume that examinee should practice writing essay more and more before the test.
